About

Esmeray Yıldırım,
Eyebrow and Expression Specialist

Could you briefly introduce yourself?
I was born in Istanbul. I'm a student of architectural drawing. After managing my profession for a while, I switched to the beauty field. Actually, my current situation is different from my architectural drawing background in some ways. Ultimately, there's the aesthetics and visual aspect of home life. I've been an eyebrow specialist for 17 years.

Why did you choose eyebrow specialization?
Because eyebrows are the most important area showing facial expression. I look at it as a whole. Therefore, I also invest in image. I provide guidance on many things, from the color of a person's clothes, to their hair and cut, and even the shape of their individual beard and mustache. Of course, my most specialized area is eyebrows.

After leaving your first profession, what kind of training did you receive on eyebrows?
My curiosity about this subject led me to beauty courses. But no one in those courses taught me how to shape eyebrows. I owe everything to my own curiosity and the results of my pursuits. You initially tried using a razor. At that time, razor use wasn't common at all. I would go to the men's section of the salon where I worked and observe them. I was always fascinated by razors. I wondered if I could use one too, so I started practicing eyebrow shaping with a razor. And it worked! Then, through experimentation, I started preparing oil blends. When I get home from work, I use my house as an oil lab. The beauty industry is huge, and there's no end to the innovations in the sector. This idea, this growth, and this curiosity led to a career transfer within the industry. I've consulted for actors, politicians, and business people.
